DC’s Best Acting Headshots

The best Acting Headshots in Washington DC

Not many people know this but Washington DC has the highest number of Professional theaters second to New York City. It’s not Chicago or Los Angeles as some might think. Washington DC is an excellent town to cut your teeth in the performing arts industry thanks to its Nationally funded theaters. Since Kristina has experience on stage performing and getting her own headshots done many times, she know’s what it’s like to be in your shoes. In each session she makes it a point to make sure each client is calm, not stressed, and having a good time so that your persona can come through the lens. Come in and let Kristina capture your best DC Headshots to date!

Having dedicated headshot looks that you usually play is a great way to add diversity to your headshot appointment. Think about the roles you’ve been cast in lately and see if there’s a theme. Are you cast as the ingenue, the best friend, the comic? All of those things can help you tailor your session towards getting the perfect shot that will show off that side of your acting range.

Make sure you bring lots of clothing choices and layering options. Stay away from logos, and bold prints. During your headshot session, Kristina will work with you to divide and solidify your “looks” so you leave your session with multiple “characters.” This way, you always have something perfect to submit no matter what role you’re auditioning for.

How should I prepare for my DC actor headshots?

The most important thing an actor can do to prepare for their headshot photography appointment is prepare their “character looks.” When you are auditioning for a role, you want to send a photo that visually represents the character or role you’re auditioning for. Sadly, if you only have one ‘general’ headshot look, that will limit you in getting called to audition for a wide variety of roles. So the best thing you can do is come prepared with multiple acting headshot ‘looks’ that directly show off the types of roles you typically get cast in or the roles you want to get cast in.

Here’s a perfect example of a headshot client that came in and had all of his ‘looks’ organized. He knew exactly what he wanted to achieve during his DC headshot session and I feel as if we nailed each one.
