Underwater Photographer

Kristina’s passion for the water started before she could walk. She was taught to swim by the Filipino Olympic swim coach at 6 months of age while living in The Philippines with her parents. As her photography career progressed, she became curious about transitioning the art form she loved into an underwater environment. She worked closely with multiple underwater photographers as a model for a few years and then made the jump to behind the camera. She now shoots multiple underwater sessions a year both in The Bahamas and in pools around the Maryland and Washington DC area. She even leads a photography and underwater modeling workshop each summer in The Bahamas.

Trying her hand at underwater modeling herself, she has an innate ability to work with models new to the water and coach them on how to get the best pose and expression out of them while in the water. She knows how hard it is to model in an airless, sightless, soundless environment and is capable of guiding her models through this unique experience.
